Officers hurt in police crash
Police car
The cars collided at a crossroads
Four police officers have been injured, one of them seriously, after their vehicles crashed while they were responding to an incident in Preston.

They were called to the Plungington Road area at about 0530 GMT after a man was seen acting suspiciously.

The two vehicles collided at the crossroads of Ainsley Road and Simmons Road.

One of the officers was trapped in the wreckage and suffered spinal and head injuries.

The three others suffered minor whiplash injuries.

Lancashire Police said an investigation would take place into the crash.
