Fake landlords targeting students

University students are warned to be careful when looking for accommodation via adverts on the internet.

Bogus landlords are preying on unsuspecting students via unregulated websites.

The Metropolitan Police and the National Union of Students have reported a rise in the number of cases of deposits being taken for properties that do not exist.
