Eleven accused of training fraud plot
Eleven people have been charged with plotting to swindle money from the now-defunct Individual Learning Accounts training scheme.

The eleven were among 35 people arrested last autumn by the National Crime Squad, during raids on suspected animal rights activists.

The Department for Education and Skills said another man was to be charged next Tuesday.

All are being bailed to appear at Northampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday 19 February.

They are accused of conspiracy to obtain property by deception.

Of those not charged, seven have been cautioned, three have refused caution, and papers have gone to the Crown Prosecution Service.

No further action will be taken against the 13 others, the department said.

During the operation, National Crime Squad officers worked with police from the Northamptonshire, Sussex, Greater Manchester and West Midlands forces, as well as the Department for Education and its special investigations unit.
